”“The Poulterer holds up a turkey which seems too elegantly slim for that vulgar portion of the public which requires a plump bird. He sends the boy for bellows and blows it out, tying the neck to keep the air in. A lady is induced to purchase it by its plump appearance and the poulterer's assurance that it is the 'best bird in the market.'
