“A beautiful allegory, representing life as a voyage which can only be made once. It describes the course of The Wanderer, passing through Mirth Harbour, the Roads of Intemperance, the Gulf of Speculation, and by Fameland, then past the Tower of Mercy through the Stiaits of the Cross. The vessel’s name is here changed to The Christian Believer, and its after progress through troubles and joys is graphically pictured, both by the story and the illustrations, which are exceptionally fine. Hymns – We are out on the ocean sailing – Bravely launch the Temperance Lifeboat – Throw out the life-line (solo) – Up with thy hands to Jesus – Dark is the night (solo) – Safe within the Vail.
