“The success which has attended the publication of our sets of Slides on Dickens' 'Christmas Carol' and 'Tale of Two Cities' has induced us to attempt a still larger series of Slides on one of his greatest novels, 'Martin Chuzzlewit.'
As in the case of the other two sets, a condensed version of the story will be published retaining, as far as possible, the actual dialogue and descriptions of Dickens, but shortened so as to take about 1¾ hours to read. A plentiful supply of Slides based on the best of the designs of Phiz, Fred Barnard, and other artists is in preparation (by kind permission of Messrs Chapman & Hall) and, in order to keep the interest unflagging, not less than 60 illustrations will be provided, and more if needful.
It is hoped that this new set will be ready early in 1913.
List of Slides not yet complete.

This story illustrates very fully the great versatility of Dickens' work; there are many characters in it which have attained world-wide celebrity, such as Pecksniff, Sairey Gamp and Mark Tapley, and the transitions from social life to tragedy, with a continuous stream of comedy and comic relief running through all, form a most interesting story and give a very good idea of the universality of the Author's genius.
