Slide set: The miller's cunning daughter (story: manufacturer unknown, 10 slides, in/before 1898)
“Three robbers have decided to break into the mill and carry off the bags of gold which the Miller has stored there. The Miller's daughter, who is alone, sees the three faces through a window, and divining their intention determines to stop them. She drops a heavy millstone on the first as he crawls through a small window, and flattens him. Fastens the second to a revolving bar, as he crawls in; he is twisted round and despatched at once. The third gets through all right and is leaning over the Miller's gold chest, when the daughter suddenly slams down the great lid and sits on it, decapitating him, and the mill is left in peace.”
