There he meets with intemperate companions, and one of them partially succeeds in enticing him to become a regular patron of the public-house. But, before he has gone far on the downward path, he receives a letter from his mother, warning him of the dangers of drink, and praying him to abstain; by this means he is led to see the evils of that kind of life, and becomes a staunch Temperance advocate. The story well depicts the temptations that are in a young man's start in life when he gets into doubtful company, and shows the necessity of careful choice in making friends.”
