“No pains or expense have been spared to make this the finest possible set of Slides that can be published on this subject.
The four Royal Portraits are from the exclusive negatives of Messrs W. & D. Downey, the Royal Photographers, slides of which are publised only by Messrs Newton & Co., who have also acquired the sole right of making Lantern Slides from the photograph [sic] taken during the Coronation by Sir B. Stone, the only photographer allowed in the Abbey.
The outdoor scenes and incidents are from direct negatives, and the rites and ceremonies in the Abbey itself, which could not be satisfactorily photographed, are from the original drawings by such famous artists as S. Begg, F. Matania, A.M. Faulkner, C.M. Paddy, A. Forestier, W. Paget, H.W. Koekkoek, F. de Haenen, etc.
All the Slides marked (p.) are direct photographs, the remainder are from original drawings.
