Season 1909-10: fourth supplement to the general catalogue of lantern slides (Bradford: Riley Brothers, 1909), 3

“An affecting poem, which relates how the Punch and Judy man collapsed by the wayside and could go no further. Recognising that his end was come, he began to recall to his companion the days of the past when, in company with his wife, they had first set out upon their travels. He knew he was about to join her in the Better Land, but before going he begged his mate to set up the Show and give one last performance. And so for the last time he feebly beat the drum as he lay upon the ground, and then passed quietly away in his partner's arms.”
