“A Sacred Service of Song, written by B.A. Kilburn.
”“An aged fiddler and his granddaughter Patty are passing along a busy street in a popular seaport town. Some sailors looking out of a public house window beckon to them to stop and sing. When Patty and the old man have finished their hymn one of the sailors declares himself to be old Reuben's youngest son, who in consequence of his drinking habits left home and almost broke the old man's heart. Ralph promises and does reform. Reuben's old violin is also heard by his brother, whom he has not seen for many years, and who gives Reuben and Patty a comfortable home.
”“A story of privations bravely met and the love of a child for an old man. Suitable for Bands of Hope.”
