“This is undoubtedly the finest series of slides dealing with the Immortal Allegory that has ever been issued. We have produced it at the earnest request of many clergymen and others who were dissatisfied with the illustrations that have hitherto done service in this connection. No life models can adequately interpret Bunyan's conceptions, but Miss Preston, the gifted artist to whom the present work has been entrusted, has treated each picture with the most sympathetic care, and the results have been approved by the most competent critics. Being the story of Christian truth[?] and growth, the age of Christian grows with the incidents, and we are confident that no set will be more used for the spread of Christian truths.
”“Bunyan’s 'Pilgrim's Progress,' by the same firm, is issued in catalogue form in the same style [as Ben Hur, Lucerna ID 3001001]. The sixty illustrations showing the style of slides are extremely good, as they are from high-class drawings. This book, and also the foregoing one, have been copyrighted in England as well as the United States, where Messrs Riley have several branches. From a correspondent in Philadelphia, we have lately learned that the former set and catalogue have met with a splendid reception.
