“This set includes a unique series of slides of the wonderful groups in the Chapels of the Sacred Mount at Varallo -- a quaint sequestered village in the north of Italy. These groups of figures representing scenes in the life of Christ are, many of them, of the highest artistic excellence, and the oldest of them date from as far back as the beginning of the sixteenth century. The Sacred Mount is much visited by Italian pilgrims, and deserves to be better known in this country than it is.”
