Newton & Co., England
in stock of Newton & Co., 1913-1948 (item ref. ASM)
reissue of A thousand miles up the Nile (lecture: G.W. Wilson, 70 slides, 1891)
see generic title A thousand miles up the Nile (generic set title – 3 different versions are known)
The earliest possible date is based on the inclusion of 'before/after' images of the Aswan Low Dam, completed in 1902.
This set is probably a rearrangement and reissue by Newton of images from the earlier Wilson set of the same title; the illustrated slides do not have quite the same photographic image quality as the GWW examples, and the captions on the slide mounts are handwritten rather than printed.
