Slides 16 and 18 appear to be photographs, possibly publicity photos for stage productions of the Joan of Arc story. Most of the others are based on paintings, drawn from Newton’s extensive stock of images for which they owned the slide reproduction rights. Individual copyright holders are credited on some of the slide labels.
