BAKER, W. Weaver (1866-1954) – slide maker, all 7 slides
A small group of slides with no image; the slides themselves have been carefully made with double glass and full edge binding strips.
Their purpose is unclear, though the blank slides may have been used for handwritten announcements that were then wiped off. The grid slide could have been used for scale copying of images or measuring of relative dimensions.
Slide [7] shows a standard commercial slide mount made by W. Butcher and Sons, marked with lines to allow cutting to different shapes, but why it should be mounted as a slide when it gives an opaque image is unclear.
The attribution to Weaver Baker's collection is based on the locations in which these slides were found in the RAMM Collection.
