KRUGER, Paul  (1825-1904), all 8 slides

An intriguing set about which nothing further is known. It is probably British in origin, but assuming it relates to the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902, it is most unusual in not showing Kruger in a negative light.

Unless there were additional slides after Slide 8, showing some form of downfall or reversal of fortune, the portrayal of Kruger as a skillful combatant (presumably) firing on the British army is very much against the popular propaganda of the time.
