The slides are listed in the Church Army 1913 catalogue in approximately chronological (or at least Biblical) order of the events they show in Christ's life. The numbering of the slides in the catalogue is therefore apparently random, but seems to suggest that there was an original set of around 500 slides, to which new subjects were added in batches over a period of years.
The highest numbered slide in the 1913 catalogue is 937, but slides up to at least 1156 are known to exist, presumably added to the set after 1913.
9 slides known to exist in private collection
13 slides in The Hive, Worcester
6 slides known to exist in private collection
13 slides in A.H. Whinfield Collection
