Newton & Co., England
in stock of Newton & Co., 1899-1913 (item ref. OD)
compiler: CROOKSHANK, Professor Edgar (1858-1928)
The British Association for the Advancement of Science held large meetings in Canada in 1884 and 1897.
The set probably refers to the latter of these; according to contemporary accounts (see Science, N.S. Vol. VI No. 136, 6 August 1897, 201-204) Edgar Crookshank did attend the 1897 event. However the Newton catalogue says only that the photographs were 'lent by' Crookshank, not necessarily taken by him.
The steamship Vancouver mentioned at Slide 1 was operated by the Dominion Line between 1884 and 1910.
