Notes

The Riley catalogues use the title Comic contrast slides.

The slide listing here is a composite of the lists from the 1891/1905 Riley and 1891 UKBHU catalogues. The numbers carried by the slides may therefore be slightly different from those listed here.

The 1905 Riley catalogue omits slides 10 and 11 as listed here, but adds six more slides numbered 37-42 and renumbers the whole set in one sequence 1-66.

The Tyler section of the 1891 UKBHU catalogue, the 1898 Wrench catalogue and 1891 Riley catalogue list only 62 slides, numbered 1-62. Slides 37-62 in those listings correspond to slides 43-68 in the list here.

The most likely explanation is an original set of 62 slides produced in or before 1891, but modified by Riley before 1905 by removing two and adding six slides.
