in stock of J. Brandon Medland, 1889
in stock of Wrench & Son, 1898
The Medland catalogue shortens the title to A terrible adventure, and subtitles the set 'From the German', suggesting it's imported or adapted from a German set.
The 1898 Wrench catalogue uses the title A terrible adventure in Rhineland, and attributes the story to 'Phineas Frolicsome' - if not a character's name, that is presumably an author's pseudonym. Some of the slide titles in that catalogue are slightly different from those in the Medland catalogue.
