Notes
The verses on the slides are from the accompanying reading, which is itself taken from W. Harry Rogers, A bushel of merrythoughts (London: Sampson Low, Son & Marston, 1868), a collection of verses.
The images are adapted from Busch's series Der Eispeter of 1864, but have been redrawn; unlike some versions of this story the wording (slide 23) has been translated from German to English.
