No previous set is listed in the Bamforth catalogue to account for the 'new series' subtitle.

The visual style of the known images, particularly Slide 7, looks very much later than the 1897 date implied by this set's position in the Bamforth catalogue and its Riley stock number, so probably that was the date of the first version and this new series was added in its place in the catalogues.
