Sweetbriar Cottage on a greenhill side was owned by George Storr

George Storr was assisting his wife and Lily in putting up the evergreens

When he reached the beach he conferred with the other fishermen assembled there

'Come, come, old friend,' said Storr, kindly taking the old man's trembling hand

The Golden Lily was brought down the steep, shingly beach, to the edge of the water

Old Jenkin arrived at the cottage and delivered his message

'Go home, woman, to your pretty babes,' replied the old man

'There, there,' shouted Mrs Storr, wildly throwing her shawl away, and pointing to an object floating on the waves

Willie dragged up the heavy arm chair of the absent one to its usual place at the table

Mrs Storr silently pointed to the piece of wreck, upon which appeared the ominous words, 'The Golden Lily'
