Robert Craven, ‘Hans and his pig’ in Short lantern readings 5 (c.1888)
see also Paddy and his pig (story: Theodore J. Harbach, 12 slides, n.d.)
see also Simon and his pig (story: York & Son, 12 slides, in/before 1888)
The Bamforth catalogue uses the title The Irishman and his pig and the slides are labelled as such. The reading, though, refers to the main character as Hans rather than Patrick.
The Riley 1891 catalogue uses the title Paddy and his pig, but their 1905 catalogue has Hans and his pig under the same stock number.
The images are based on Busch's series Der Bauer und sein Schwein of 1862, also the source of several other slide sets.
11 slides known to exist in private collection
