The images are closely based on Busch's original cartoon series Der hohle Zahn of 1862, but have been redrawn.
The Ivens catalogue and the Indispensable handbook refer to the main character as 'Grimshaw', but in the readings he's 'Hans Hopman', reflecting the German origin of this set of images.
