Notes

The Indispensable handbook reference to this as a Life Model is probably an error, referring instead to the Pumphrey set which precedes this in the list in that book.

The Indispensable handbook also attributes this set to York, but the 1905 Riley catalogue shows it as maker 'E', i.e. Wrench, and references in other catalogues would support this.

The images are closely based on the Busch cartoons Diogenes und die bösen Buben von Korinth of 1863, but have been redrawn for this set.
