“Nelson Farm changes hands. The new farmer is an abstainer. He stops the men's beer and gives extra wages instead. This causes much astonishment at the Green Dragon. In ten years the whole village is changed. The Green Dragon is replaced by two handsome cottages, and drunkenness becomes a thing of the past. Hymns – Hail! friends of temperance – There is beauty all around – Come, ye thankful people, come.
