Slide 1

A Sweep and Whitewasher were engaged in the same house to work; before commencing, they take a drink together

They separate for the purpose of ascending to their work

Full of fun, the sweep has temporarily retired to wait for the whitewasher

Whitewasher prepares to begin work. The sweep reappears and drops some soot into the whitewash

Whitewasher surprised at the colour of the whitewash

Whitewasher discovers his tormentor. The Sweep smothers him with soot and departs
