“A boy starts out with a gun to shoot a bird, but the gun goes off harmlessly. He takes hold of the gun and determines to brain the bird, but breaks the stock over a stone instead. He pursues the bird with more determination, only to fall into the ditch and be projected into a prickly bush. Stretching his hands through the leaves he succeeds in catching his prey, and returns home with joy on every feature of his countenance.”
