A lengthy series of short sets of religious propaganda slides produced and distributed by the Church Army, showing proverbs, Bible quotations and other texts illustrated by specially-commissioned drawings and paintings, mainly by Thomas Noyes Lewis.
The slides were probably available individually, though in the 1913 Church Army catalogue they are arranged in sets. The second group of sets (numbered 1-13, with thematic titles) appear to consist of slides from the first group (lettered A-T and numbered in a single sequence 1-294), rearranged according to subjects.

“All the pictures in this series have been drawn specially for us. They are quite unique. Each slide contains a few words thrusting home one lesson. No lecture need be given. Invaluable for open-air work. Some illustrations will be found at the beginning of the Catalogue.
[for sets WA 1-13]: The following sets are from the same series, but the illustrations are selected to suit particular subjects. Notice they are to be ordered by numbers not letters -- as WA 1, 2, etc., not A, B, etc.”
