A group of slide sets published by Newton & Co., showing contemporary photographic views of locations mentioned in the works of Charles Dickens. The Newton catalogue credits H. Snowden Ward's book Real Dickens Land as the basis of the series.
manufacturer: Newton & Co., 1913-1926
“These Slides are direct photographs of the Scenes in which Dickens lays the plots of his various Stories, and are listed under the titles of their respective Works.
They will be found very useful in lectures on Dickens or any of his writings, especially if used in conjunction with Slides of the Characters (UB page 969) connected with the Scenes.
The Selection is based on the very complete and instructive work 'Real Dickens’ Land,' by the late H. Snowden Ward.
