“In attempting the difficult task of preparing illustrated Lantern Addresses which should be really attractive and helpful to boys and girls, we are greatly indebted to various well-known writers whose stories have proved so invaluable to those who have to speak often to children. Their names will be sufficient assurance that the Addresses are what they should be, bright and attractive, entertaining and instructive.

The fact that this new series of Children’s Addresses achieved almost instant popularity is sufficient in itself to justify us in preparing additional new sets which will be published shortly.

The Slides are as fine as any we have ever published; they have been very carefully selected and are most beautifully painted, and fully support the high tone maintained in the addresses themselves. No expense has been spared to make them in every way worthy of the important work which it is hoped they may help to do. Great care has been taken in their choice and arrangement, and many of them are most excellent reproductions of great pictures by famous artists.

We believe that a large demand, hitherto very inadequately provided for, exists for really first-rate Illustrated Addresses, which, while quiet, refined, and restrained in tone, are so arranged as to make a powerful appeal to the intellects and feelings of children. In the first forty of these Addresses the Scriptural note has been emphasized so as to maintain a distinct and earnest religious tone without making them distasteful to the young by 'sermonizing.'

A complete series of these sets of Slides, most exquisitely painted in our finest quality, has been added to our Hiring Department; and the fact that we have not the expense of publishing the Addresses, but only the Slides, enables us to let them on hire on our usual hiring terms, which it is hoped will make them still more popular.

A further series of Addresses for Boys and Girls is in preparation and will be published shortly.”
