Short biography

Son of a Nuremberg drafting instrument maker, educated as an engineer at the major electrical firm of Schukert. Founded his own workshop 1875 specifically to make magic lanterns and model steam engines.Factory in Gostenhof also produced detailed models of contemporary machine tools, transport models and scientific instruments, including patented model printing press.
