Notes

A testimonial letter from Tipton in the 1878 Hughes catalogue (incorrectly giving his first initial as 'F') gives his address as Taunton, Somerset, and his position as 'Head Master, British School'. The letter is praising Hughes' slide set for Tipton's service of song Eva.
