Innovative lantern manufacturer in Nuremberg. By 1900 producing c150,000 lanterns annually, plus 80,000 simplified model steam engines, locomotives, and ships. Also produced full-sized lanterns, sciopticons, and cinematograph apparatus. Offered reproduction praxinoscopes, some steam-powered.

From 1866 major improvements to design and optical performance of toy magic lanterns, especially through improved lenses and illumination. New designs of toy lanterns, some based on French originals, copied by all post-1870 Nuremberg manufacturers.
