Small green American lantern for projection of opaque objects (postcards), marked “1912 MODEL” and “Trademark Mirroscope”, with electric light bulb
According to David Robinson, Stephen Herbert, Richard Crangle (ed.), Encyclopaedia of the Magic Lantern, Ripon (North Yorkshire): The Magic Lantern Society, 2001, p. 195, the Mirroscope was made by the Buckeye Stereopticon Company in Cleveland (Ohio) and also sold by Gamages Ltd. in London at “15 to 42 shillings” according to the model (four in total).
Object number 368 in Robert Vrielynck, Collection Robert Vrielynck, self edition [Brugge 1998]. Current collection no. RV1_154 in Collection RV kept by the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (MuKHA).
