The Kineoptoscope itself comprised only the film transport mechanism; it was available separately or attached to different types of magic lantern.
From December 1896 until April 1897 Riley Brothers marketed the device as the 'Wray Kineoptoscope'; after that it became the 'Riley Kineoptoscope'.
