Express and Echo (6 November 1911)

“[...] The large audience present that evening conclusively proved the desirability of these lectures and the necessity of them. [...]

Miss Beatrix Cresswell, who was cordially received, then delivered her lecture, which was illustrated by means of lantern slides, which lent a great deal of interest to the proceedings. For instance, the slide of the Roman pavement, in our Exeter Police Station, was a reproduction of the first picture ever made of this interesting pavement. Views of the ancient Guildhall and other historic portions of the City were thrown on the screen, and described in an interesting manner by the lecturer.

[detailed desciption of the lecture content follows]”
