ROWDEN, A.O. (1877-1960) – lecturer
South Western Naturalists' Union – organiser
“On Saturday morning a Council Meeting, followed by the General Meeting, was held. Next came the Presidential Address on 'British Wasps and Hornets and their Nests.' In a most interesting and lucid way the President [Rowden] described the life history of these insects, the methods adopted in building nests, the usual sites and the strange places in which he had found the nests of various species. The address was illustrated by lantern slides from photographs he had taken and actual nests in fine and perfect condition.
”This event formed part of the annual conference of the South-Western Naturalists' Union, held on 10-13 May 1940.
