“On the 28th ult., a large gathering was held in the Thorngate Hall, Gosport, under the patronage of Lieuteant-Colonel Chatfield commanding King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Sergant-Major Bush, R.A., recited the 'Soldiers Dream,' and the 'Charge of Balaclava.' Mr. G. Nelson gave an address on 'England's Great Battles,' illustrated with a magnificent series of dissolving views, with the oxy-hydrogen lime light, after which a vote f thanks was moved by the Rev. Dr. Craigg, chaplain H.M. Forces, and 'God save the Queen' brought this happy gathering to a close. -”
