SARGANT, Alfred  (fl. 1870s-90s) – lecturer

‘Dissolving Views’ in Church of England Temperance Chronicle

“A large and influential number of 'friends of the cause' sat assembled in the large room of the above Schools to hear Mr. Sargant explain the Society's principles and object with the aid of the dissolving view apparatus. (...) The pictures were very much liked, as was also the manner of their explanation, judging from the way in which the lecture 's remark were received. Before the lecture commenced the friends and members of the local branch had sat down to an excellant tea. Kind and encouraging words were spoken both before and after the lecture by the Revs. O.B. Hodge, Midwinter, and Flavell Cook.”
