“Temperance Work at Castlefield - In the Mechanic's Hall on Sunday evening, Miss Brown gave a lecture on the 'Drink Fiend,' which was illustrated by limelight views. Sacred solos were sung by Mr. H. Evans, and these, too, were illustrated by lantern slides and views descriptive of Biblical incidents. Mr. J. T. Brown, the chairman, gave a short address. Several pledges were taken at the close of the address.”
