‘Intelligence’ in Sunday School Chronicle

“Uckfield - Congregational Sunday School and Band of Hope - A very successful entertainment was given in the New Hall by teachers, on Thursday, November 3rd, subject 'The Fall of Stainclifefes', with dissolving views and explanatory reading. The room was crowded and great interest was given to the subject. The meeting commenced with the hymn 'Yield not to temptation', and prayer was offered by Mr. Clarke (who gave the readings). Messrs. Cockett and Porkney superintended the lantern. The meeting was brought to a successful issue with a good night hymn.”
