“Darlington. - On Friday evening, January 4th, by the kind generosity of Mrs. Thompson, Paradise-terrace, the parents and teachers of the Nestfield Mission School, in connection with the Methodist Free Churches were provided with a substantial tea and entertainment. After tea Mr. William cox took the chair. After an address by the teacher of the young mens' class, suitable pieces and songs were efficiently rendered by the choir, under the leadership of Mr. Geo Walker. Several beautiful Scripture subjects were shown by means of a magic lantern. Then the afternoon, superintendent, Mr. F. Kipling, gave a short address, saying a few pleasant words to the parents. Some further views of a local and national, as well as amusing, character, were exhibited through the magic lantern, to the great delight of old and young. ”
