“Sheerness on Sea. - Ebenezer (Bible Christian) Sunday School. - The annual soiree of the above school was held on Tuesday, Feb. 1st, when about 200 children and adults were present. After tea, an interesting dissolving view entertainment was given, subject, 'How Stanley found Livingston,' and 'Jonathan Grubb,' two descriptive lectures being given by Mr. Pardy, garrison schoolmaster. During the evening, the Rev. W. H. Sleeman (pastor) presented to four of the scholars on behalf of the teachers, a handsomley bound Bible and three other books.”
