BOYD, John A. (fl. 1870s-90s) – lecturer
St John's Band of Hope, Forest Hill – organiser
“Forest Hill - On Monday evening, April 24th, St. John's Hall was quite filled by the St. John's Band of Hope and their friends to hear Mr. J. A. Boyd, of the Sunday School Union, deliver his lecture on the 'Pilgrim's Progress.' Dr. Boyd presided. The lecture, which was interesting and helpful, was illustrated by a series of excellent dissolving views, while a choir composed of the senior members sang several appropriate melodies, concluding with the anthem, 'Jerusalem, my glorious home.'”
