“Lyndhurst - On the last Sunday of the old year suitable addresses were delivered to the scholars of the Baptist Sunday School by the pastor, teachers and superintendent. On the 30th ult. a tea was given to the scholars of the Day and Sunday Schools, and in the evening a descriptive lecture on Palestine and Syria, by the Rev. W. H. Payne, illustrated by dissolving views shown by Mr. F. G. Short.”
