“Lake-Road Band of Hope - On Friday last, December 4th, a lecture was given under the auspices of the above society, in the Lake-Road schoolroom, by Mr. W. E. Green. Subject - 'From Egypt to Canaan'. The lecture was illustrated by a magnificent set of dissolving views of the Portsmouth Band of Hope and Abstainers' Union, under the management of Mr. Hingston. The meeting was opened by prayer and a brief address by the Rev. T. W. Medhurst, who expressed his sympathy with the Band of Hope Union movement.”
