“Lectures. The Rev. F. Storer Clark M. A. and the Rev. C. Spurgeon very kindly offfered to lecture on behalf of the the funds of the Union. The Committee very gratefully accepting the offers, at once made arrangements, by which the Rev. F. S. Clark gave five lectures: viz., at Lee, New Cross, Anerly, Plumstead, and New Brompton; the subject of the lectures being 'Gleanings from Five Summer holidays in Switzerland'. Mr. J. Edwards, R. A. of Plumstead, very kindly attended each lecture and exhbited a number of views with the dissolving view lanterns.”
