“A New Year's Soiree was held on Tuesday, January 25th, in the Schoolroom of the Baptist Chapel, South Street, Greenwich. The Rev. C. Spurgeon presided. Addresses were given by the Rev. J. G. Gregson, and the Rev. James H. Wilson, D. D. The Woolwich Vocal Union sang a selection of pieces. Seargent-Major J. Edwards and Messrs. Nightingale & Crisp gave a musical perfomance. Mr. W. Munn also assisted. The meeting which was well attended, was brought to a close by a Dissolving View Lecture. ”
