“Salehurst, Sussex - We have had another interesting Lantern Service here, entitled 'Her Benny' which has also been repeated at Hurst Green. On Oct. 1 we held our Harvest Thanksgiving Service. The schoolroom was tastefully decorated with fruit, vegetables, and flowers, which were afterwards sent to Headquarters. The Captain spoke on Sowing and Reaping in regard to to our spiritual life. On Monday, the service continued, and we gave a Service of Song, entitled 'Little Minnie', with solos and duets. In the absence of the vicar, Mr. Potter gave th connective reading. Although we have had not many outward signs, yet we believe that we shall reap if we faint not.”
