“Hertford, St. Mary's.- In Mr. Seddon's parish, on good Friday evening, the Rev. T. C. Collings, Assistant Diocesan Secretary for East London, held a magic lantern service in the church. The parish has a population of about 200, and although five miles from any railway station, quite that number crowded in the church. The service was bright and cheerful, and Bro. Hall and Capt. Collins from Headquarters, gave bright addresses and offered up prayer, their testimony visibly affecting the congregation. This was the Captain's first address as such, and many were the prayers that his fight might be a faithful one. The slides were the 'Story of the Passion'. Mr. Kean manipulted the lantern, assisted by Bro. Brewer. Mr. Collings for two hours interested the people and his quaint remarks won their sympathy. (...) For CAPT. COLLINS”
